Clocking in at 6 minutes and 45 seconds, this extended version builds on the original’s message of unity and liberation with even deeper grooves and expanded sonic textures.

Originally released in April 2025 as a radio edit, Power of the People is an Irie fusion of soul, funk, and electronic music, rooted in the revolutionary spirit of the 1960s–’80s. The new remix amplifies that energy—honoring the history behind Juneteenth and reinforcing the track’s central theme: real change begins with the people.

“With this remix, I wanted to let the message breathe,” says ZOOLOOK. “It’s not just a longer version—it’s a fuller one. Juneteenth is about resilience, remembrance, and renewal. That’s the soul of this remix.”

The track draws inspiration from the socially conscious music of artists like Bernard Edwards, Maurice Gibb, and Jean-Michel Jarre, with ZOOLOOK channeling their influence through his signature blend of cinematic synths, live bass, and layered production. Power of the People was originally titled Power to the People, but after hearing Senator Cory Booker’s historic 25-hour speech on the Senate floor, ZOOLOOK was inspired to shift the focus.

“The power of the people is greater than the people in power,” he recalls. “That line stuck with me—it became the heartbeat of the whole track.”

Both the radio edit and the 6:45 Remix version are now available across all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and TIDAL, as well as for direct download via Bandcamp and ZOOLOOK’s official website.
